Clinical Trials Unit

The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is located within the Department of Biostatistics at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. The CTU Director, Andrew Pickles, is Professor of Biostatistics and Psychological Methods at the Institute of Psychiatry and the CTU collaborates on non-mental health projects with Janet Peacock, Professor of Medical Statistics in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health Sciences at King's College London.

Established in 2002 and awarded full CTU registration by the UKCRC,   the CTU provides support to both medicinal and non-medicinal clinical trials across King's Health Partners. We assist research teams in carrying out clinical trials safely and to a high scientific standard, by offering a range of services to ensure the results are accurate and credible.

The CTU has an online randomisation system and validated web-based data entry system, along with trial management, data management and statistical expertise and particularly welcomes collaborations on applications to NIHR HTA, EME, SDO, HSR and PHR funding streams.
