LADS highly commended by HSJ

KHP Joint Director of Clinical Strategy Dr Irem Patel has hailed the recognition of an asthma tool at a prestigious national health awards ceremony.

The London Asthma Decision Support tool (LADS) was highly commended in the Data-Driven Transformation of the Year category at the HSJ Awards 2023.

Picture of the LADS team at the HSJ Awards 2023Bringing together air pollution, demographic, and social deprivation data with routinely collected NHS data for the first time, the tool allows clinical teams to intervene much earlier in the patient pathway and improve outcomes. It also helps to identify and investigate areas of health inequity across the capital.

Dr Patel [in the picture, far left], as Co-Clinical Director of the London Respiratory Clinical Network, says:

I am really delighted that our collaborative asthma project across north west and south east London has been highly commended at the HSJ awards. This is a great tool which enables insight and action for improved whole person asthma care at population level, and has great potential for London.

LADS is a collaboration involving the North West London Integrated Care System (ICS), South East London ICS, Imperial College Health Partners, Imperial College London, and Vizify. It was funded by the London Health Data Strategy, Co-Chaired by Prof Ian Abbs, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
