King’s College Hospital

To mark the 70-year milestone King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has teamed up with BBC on a two-part documentary which will be broadcast on BBC One on 28 June and 5 July at 9pm.

The documentary, Celebrities On The NHS Frontline, features four well-known faces who spent time shadowing different teams across the hospital. Reporter Stacey Dooley, Medical Journalist Michael Mosley, Paralympic Gold Medallist Jonnie Peacock and ex-politician Ann Widdecombe learn first-hand about the challenges faced by NHS staff, and explore what drives them to work as hard as they do to deliver outstanding levels of care.

The four celebrities spent time in a number of departments across the hospital, including neurosurgery, liver, paediatrics, cardiology, emergency medicine, maxillofacial surgery and clinical site management, to shine a light on the amazing work they all do.

Internally, the Trust will have a competition for the best decorated ward on 5 July, as well as holding exclusive staff previews of the BBC documentary.
