Hi-tech ‘lung’ saves premature baby

The Mail on Sunday reported the story of Reva Malvankar who was nine weeks old when she became critically ill with a respiratory infection. She is the smallest baby in the UK to receive the pioneering life support treatment, ECMO, and has just celebrated her first birthday thanks to medics at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

3D models of kidney transplant toddler to go on display in London

A pioneering kidney transplant between a father and daughter from Antrim is to be celebrated in a permanent display at the Science Museum in London.

The BBC has published a story about the printed models that helped surgeons at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital plan how to put an adult-sized kidney into the body of a toddler.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ recently launched the world’s first clinic for men with Klinefelter Syndrome. Men’s magazine The Jackal featured interviews with Dr Tet Yap and one of his patients for a story about the condition.

Heart wire test detects ‘hidden’ angina

A routine test could help diagnose thousands of people who have ‘microvascular angina’ – abnormalities in their small arteries. The Mail on Sunday reported the findings of a study by researchers at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London.
