The latest COVID-19 courses on the Learning Hub
Take a look at our education and training resources for COVID-19, free to all staff and students.
The commitment, skills and compassion that you bring caring for our patients, staff and students, and the acceleration of our scientific effort, has never been more important. We’re here to support you through the changes and challenges you may be facing in this fast moving environment.
Our Education Academy continues to work hard to create new resources for you, our staff, students and researchers, during such unprecedented times. We share with you the latest resources on COVID-19 available on the Learning Hub:
We have brought together COVID-19 resources from our partner Trusts, Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts, Public Health England and Royal Colleges on the Learning Hub.
These professional bodies have provided many helpful resources on the virus and to complement our multi-professional teams, we’ve pooled these resources in one place for ease of reference for our staff, students and researchers.
The Essential Resources for COVID-19 area on the Learning Hub is regularly updated to give you as much relevant information in one place as possible.
- Safe use of standard personal protective equipment
- clinical guidelines for the control of symptoms in the COVID-19 patient
- COVID-19 clinical summary
- advanced life support algorithm in patients with potential or confirmed COVID-19
- mental health and COVID-19 resources
- COVID-19 safe ways of working
- information applicable for all such as ethical guidance published for frontline staff dealing with the pandemic; reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in a hospital setting
- children’s guide to coronavirus from the Children’s Commissioner.
There are also dedicated resources from our Royal Colleges and materials for mental health practitioners, obstetrics and gynaecology, perinatal and neonatal professionals and respiratory care.
The Grand Round COVID-19 webinar series, available on the King’s Health Partners Learning Hub, shares the expertise clinicians have gained in not only managing patients with COVID-19 but also better ways of working and caring for each other.
You can watch experts from around the world share their experiences in managing COVID-19 live each Tuesday at 1pm (BST) or via recordings on the Learning Hub. The benefit to staff joining the live session, is that you have the opportunity to ask the experts questions at the end of their presentation and hear more directly about their learning.
There have been six sessions so far, covering clinical and biological insights into COVID-19, mechanical ventilation, psychological interventions, mental health services and palliative care priorities for patients with COVID-19. Another ten sessions have been scheduled with speakers from Brazil, Italy, China and the USA planned for June.
Don’t miss out on a unique set of resources developed for nurses redeployed to work in critical care settings.
The project led by Prof Louise Rose, Critical Care Nursing in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care at King’s College London and Julie Platten, Network Manager and North of England Critical Care Network (NoECCN) Chair resulted in 19 new posters created for staff to refer to while working with patients on wards that are different from their usual places of work.
The guidance covers a number of topics, including how and when to perform procedures, what to do in response to blood pressure alarms, fluid balance and fluid management.
The Learning Hub is an education and training resource developed for staff, students and trainees at King’s Health Partners.
