King’s Health Partners appoint new Professor of Surgery

Prof Prokar Dasgupta has been appointed as the first Professor of Surgery at King’s Health Partners.

Prokar DasguptaKing’s Health Partners is delighted to announce that Prof Dasgupta [pictured right] has been appointed to lead the strategic direction of research in surgical practice and innovation, and to support capacity building in academic surgery for the Academic Health Sciences Centre.

Prof Dasgupta has worked within our partner organisations for over 20 years. He leads the outstanding robotic surgery programme at King’s College London and fosters strong surgical innovation and research partnerships with NHS partners locally and globally.

Speaking about the appointment, Prof Sir Robert Lechler, the outgoing Executive Director of King’s Health Partners and Senior Vice President (Health) at King’s College London, said:
