Jonathan Koffman appointed Professor of Palliative Care

Jonathan KoffmanJonathan Koffman [pictured] will become Professor of Palliative Care at Hull Medical School after a productive career at King’s College London and King’s Health Partners.

Jonathan Koffman will be leaving King’s College London and King’s Health Partners to become Professor of Palliative Care at Hull Medical School. His PhD from King's College London explored the experience of living with, and dying from, advanced cancer among black Caribbean and white patients living in south east London.

He was promoted to Reader in Palliative Care and Course Co-ordinator for the inter-professional Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and MSc in Palliative Care. His research interests include clinical trials and specifically designing and evaluating complex interventions, mixed methods research, social exclusion, and communications training.

Jonathan received the King's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007. In addition to his productive career in palliative care and related teaching, for many years he has been the King’s Health Partners workstream lead for quality assurance undertaking excellent work following on from being the Medical School’s vice dean of postgraduate teaching.
