What is your role?

I work across our Clinical Academic Groupings and, more recently, within our Mind and Body Programme. My role as Programme Manager is to bring together colleagues across our NHS and university partners to design and deliver initiatives that connect clinical care, research, and education, so we can improve outcomes for patients and communities.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy working with colleagues from different backgrounds and perspectives, and helping them come together around a shared goal. I find it rewarding to create the conditions where good ideas can grow and to see initiatives move from discussion into practice.

What inspired you to get into this work?

I’ve always been motivated by the idea that health partnerships can achieve more together than any organisation could on its own. Working at the intersection of research and clinical practice is inspiring because you see how evidence can be translated into real change in services and outcomes.

What are the benefits of your work for staff, students, and patients?

For staff: the chance to collaborate across disciplines and enable innovative ways of working.

For students: opportunities to learn in an environment where research and clinical care are closely linked.

For patients: improved access to care that is joined-up, evidence-based, and more responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

What would be your one career top tip to staff and students?

Be curious and collaborative. Some of the most interesting and rewarding opportunities come from stepping outside your immediate area, learning from others, and working in partnership to solve complex challenges.
