The South London Evaluation Advice Clinic provides free, pragmatic support to help frontline health and care teams plan evaluations and measure what matters.

Following a successful first phase, the online clinic is re-opening in October-November 2025.

The purpose of evaluation

Evaluation is essential to every service improvement initiative. It helps us learn, adapt, and build evidence for what works for patients and communities in real-world healthcare settings.

Who is the South London Evaluation Advice Clinic for?

If you are planning or delivering a service change and need practical evaluation guidance, our advisers can support you with:

  • engaging stakeholders and planning implementation;
  • designing outcome measures and evaluation frameworks;
  • identifying data sources and collection methods; and
  • considering cost-effectiveness and sustainability

How does the evaluation advice clinic work?

  1. Short triage session with an expert adviser (30 minutes, online).
  2. Tailored advice on evaluation planning and methods (45 minutes, online).
  3. Follow-up summary and resources via email, to help you move forward.

It was a real pleasure to speak to [clinic advisers] about my projects. The time although short was really helpful and fruitful and helped me to start my thinking”, previous participant
